Footprints-Science software is protected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties. The Footprints-Science software is licensed as follows:

This licence allows the school to copy the software onto every computer at the school. It may be copied onto school laptops that are taken home by teachers, but it may not be installed on home computers. It may not be posted onto a school’s website or VLE. It may only be posted on the school’s intranet provided that the software cannot be accessed by other schools through the internet. Students may not copy the software onto their home computers.

As well as copying the software onto every computer at the school this licence allows the school to upload the product onto its VLE, provided that:

Teachers may access the Powerpoint presentations on the VLE. The Powerpoint presentations may be downloaded onto school computers (including school laptops) for use in the classroom. Students may access the Powerpoint presentations via the VLE from school or home.

Licensed users of the software must not remove or alter any copyright notices on any and all copies of the software. The content contained on the CD-ROMs is made available for non-commercial use only. Any other use of content is strictly prohibited

The powerpoint presentations must not be made freely available on the Internet. Students or staff must not pass on copies of the resource to other individuals by email or any other means.

The school agrees not to (and agrees not to assist or facilitate any third party to) commercially exploit or create derivative works of the content.

The embedded flash files in the Powerpoint presentations cannot be edited and they must not be used outside the Powerpoint presentation (e.g. as part of an HTML page or by conversion using SCORM). However, teachers may rearrange slides and add new slides within the Powerpoint presentations as long as they do not remove, change or obscure any product identification. Licensed users may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the products.

All title, including but not limited to copyrights, in and to the software and any copies thereof are owned by Footprints-Science. All title and intellectual property rights in and to the content which may be accessed through use of the software is the property of Footprints-Science and may be protected by applicable copyright or other intellectual property laws and treaties. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Footprints-Science.
